Re: NPD: Revival Drive Hot Rod Edition
Man, this is awesome! I've had the custom and the hot rod standard and loved them both. The interesting thing is there was only a limited run of the hot rod double like in the picture above.. where did you get it?

Re: NPD: Revival Drive Hot Rod Edition
It’s a great pedal so far.
They made 250 of these and 250 of the custom model - has the extra panel on the front.
Bought of a dude in the UK.
Sits nicely with the others even though it’s a lot of real estate.

That's like a synth rack with umpteen tweakability options.
It's like.... if you can't conjure up a good sounding drive with all these options, put the guitar down... and list it on trade me.
First I've seen of these. They look amazing.

Re: NPD: Revival Drive Hot Rod Edition
All three are part of Origin Effects amp recreation products.
Had the Revival Trem for some time now. Love hate relationship which ultimately ends up with love.
Had the RD Custom for a while too.
Origins ability to effectively build analogue amps in pedal format is outstanding.
I'd not heard of the big box Hot Rod Edition till few weeks back and proceeded on a world wide search.
Was one in a store in Aussie but I missed it by that much!!
The RD is your classic 60s - 70s non master volume amp - and it lives up to the claims to my ears.
The RD Hot Rod is the classic 60s - 70s non master volume amps with extra "valves" - as it says - hot rodded.
The Revival Trem is your classic Brownface Fender with the most juiciest bias trem.
I've tried stand alone trem pedals but nothing comes close.
Don't get me wrong, the bias trem on the Tre-Verb and Flint are very nice but being the Revival Trem is about amp circuit and tremolo synergy, there is a dynamic in the Revival Trem that is superb.

Re: NPD: Revival Drive Hot Rod Edition
Do you play it into a normal amp and cabinet? Or ddo you use a power amp and monitors / fffr speaker?

Re: NPD: Revival Drive Hot Rod Edition
I run it to my Laney L5T-112.
The Celestion G12H does some nice heavy lifting and as it does not make the amp sound boxy, the marshallesque, Fender, Vox noises coming out of the amp are great!!

Re: NPD: Revival Drive Hot Rod Edition
Thanks. Does it have speaker emulation that you turn off, or does it not work like that?

Re: NPD: Revival Drive Hot Rod Edition
The big boxes have a switch called Re-Amp EQ and the Revival Trem has Post-Drive EQ.
There is a setting for Pwr Amp and P/Amp respectively.
This is what you would set to for FRFR, power amp and monitors setup.
The other two settings are EQs set to work with either inherently dark or bright amps.
So no speaker emulation at all Just eq options to fit what you want to run into.

Re: NPD: Revival Drive Hot Rod Edition
Pete Thorn has a vid where he puts it head to head against his custom Suhr Plexi. There is literally no difference in the sound. I had the same experience against my Headfirst Cali. These pedals are the shit.

Re: NPD: Revival Drive Hot Rod Edition
i bought the rd compact a few weeks ago and was really impressed.
i was more interested in a drive for the front end of mic'd up amps rather than the amp repro thing ( i have a kemper and a boss ir-200 for that) and i wasn't disappointed
the day i after i got it they announced the tweed 55 thing... so i had to get it too..
they're astounding
i've yet to try them into a ir loader thing or whatever the youngsters do nowadays but either of these pedals sound fabulous in front of a cleanish valve amp
i'm in serious danger of becoming a fan boy
which is fine cos the whole strymon thing eluded me...

Re: NPD: Revival Drive Hot Rod Edition
You can call me a fanboi.
The RDs can get close to the tweed sound if you push the lows and give it some mids. Clever pedals!!

Re: NPD: Revival Drive Hot Rod Edition
Where did you source the Deluxe55 from?
Is there a local seller?
