NPD: Revival Drive Custom

Post by vintage52 »

So far, great sounding pedal.

Did what the pros say to do and set up as per the sample settings in the manual.

Recording a loop using the rectifier side and playing over it on the silicon side is a lot of fun.

Rectifier set Marshall like with silicon Fender like.

Still honeymoon period but it sounds good, real good.

Most amp like pedal I've played. So many tones to be had.
Congrats man, awesome sounding pedal there!

Had it over 3 months now.

Honeymoon period is over but is it?

While the sample settings get a long way to the amps they mimic, understanding the pedal and how everything hangs together allows for a huge palette of tones that, as griff said, are most amp like.

It's absolutely whack the organic vibe and the feels.

I only recently got a LP Studio and I had forgotten how much bigger HBs are - been playing Strat and Tele for years without the need for HBs.

That LP into a Marshall sound - even coming out of my small 5 watt Laney - is there in spades.

There's no particular control that doesn't interact and react well on the pedal.

And once you have your head around what how the topology works, easy as to dial in a sound.

Hardest part I found was getting the pedals EQ set for the Laney - was getting exhausted aurally getting that sorted.

It was bloody expensive.

I'll probably never be able to afford the money or room for a collection of amps to satisfy the vintage amp itch but this does scratch the itch and scratch it well.

It's a pedal that draws me back to playing and that's a good thing!

Yes it is an expensive pedal. But once I started playing it, I instantly forgot about that.
Glad you're still digging it. I really should get another one one day.
