I blame the Rockshop for my impending divorce

Post by Kiwiaxe »

Thanks Adam at KRd (plus Jarrod) for putting me in touch with a new lady in my life (all guitars are female right)?

Very nice, sorry for loss.

Southern Fade. They got the Factory Burst one in for me from Queenstown to compare. Both played wonderfully, but this one won out slightly on feel and pickup dynamics. And the Factory Burst was a little too red for me.

Nice!!

Some serious negotiation when it comes to dividing lots is needed.

Guess you can live in your car with Murph while she retains the house.

Nice!!

...hmmmm....your thread title makes me think  Blues Lawyers buy flash gear that the rest of us can't really afford and post about it on the interweb. We get FOMO/jelly from all of the flash gear they postabout and buy stuff we can't afford. Our significant others are horrified at how much we spent on a dumb guitar when we've got X already and file for divorce. We need lawyers to represent us and who better than that cool guitar playing lawyer with the cool gear. Lawyer gets paid. Buys more gear....#thecyclecontinues #evilgenius #conspiracy

Doh! I completely forgot what Kiwiaxe does for a crust! Sorry bro, my post was in no way intended as a dig at you (you were the divorcee in my imaginary scenario).

If I was having a dig I'd tell you about how I recently heard that Auckland Uni have decided to stop using rats in their science experiments and use lawyers instead. They gave 3 reasons for the change:
1. There are more lawyers than rats.
2. The scientists were getting emotionally attached to the rats.
3. There are some things that even rats wont do.

...but of course I'm not having a dig.

Did I mention how nice that Les Paul is?

It looks like the Tobacco Burst that Duane Allman played. Beautiful. Congratulations, a fine choice sir!

Yup....GAS!.

Its funny - I have controlled GAS somewhat by being a hobby builder and just building instruments that I might otherwise want to buy. My darling wife has been accepting of that (she is an artist - http://painterarps.co.nz/index/index.htm ) but I hinted recently at wanting to consider buying a 1970 Les Paul....and got a very strong " Ha ha of course not".

Im by no means well off.....but I thought i could afford it.....really.....no....OK.

Hah no chance of offending me with lawyer digs. I’ve heard them all before and often agree with them!

And yes it is a lovely Les Paul. And out the blue I’ve been asked to play a duo gig (with a friend who sings/plays acoustic) at a place on K Rd called Bamboo Tiger (??) tomorrow night so maybe the universe is telling me which guitar to play!
