Cheers. I'm just replacing the pickups. Can't decide what to order. Might make it a Walter Trout replica and fit a set of his.MiniForklift wrote: ↑Tue Dec 20, 2022 8:23 am Nice additions there, I bet that Marshall sounds utterly great. FWIW my Dad had that Blackstar model for a year or so although his was a bit temperamental so he ended up switching back to his Cornford. Said it did sound really good and plenty loud enough for even decent sized gigs
Look forward to seeing some pics of the Strat once it's been resurrected, be interesting to hear how it compares to the other high end ones you've had
I sold the Blackstar last night. LOL. Sold it for exactly what I paid to a local guy. Think I just grabbed it because it was the price of a half-decent pedal. Didn't need it.

But there's a Maton Mini 12 and what looks like an Antoria.... surely not, Grant?

Re: Gear auction today
I’m not really sure why I went through that period, but I had had a 1974x around the 2007’s, sold it because it was too loud for city living. Then I moved out to the country, and went “ hell yes”…a few popped up om TM, so I just kept buying them…all around 1500-1700. Then I got a cab.
The last of that collection I sold to Jim and he still has it. I have kept the cab and run the Trinity through it. The latter resolves all the issues with being too loud as it has master volume, which actually works without killing the tone. It’s giggable.
The Marshalls are a great amp. A friend has an original 60’s one which I’ve played through a bit…and it only confirms the cliche that there is something about the original gear that isn’t being captured with todays versions. Still, they do a great job.
And they look cooler than heck.

Just to clarify it’s another Jim, not me. Unfortunately

Re: Gear auction today
I think they look great in most colours! I had one of the Vintage Modern heads which was purple and it looked awesome, think I actually sold it to Molly. But Marshall’s in red, white, green… they all look a bit special I reckon
