Would have to go a long way to beat the Katana or Spark in terms of ex ownership. :D
Well, then...you cats better start buyin' up 1974s!!!

How many Katanas and Sparks have cycled through forum hands? Or, is this...like... 'rugby talk,' hamo? :eh: don't get me into trouble, now.
I think it's fair to say that a bunch of each have cycled through various owners here, mainly thanks to our resident influencer JB.

Got a guy calling shortly who's a 'bit' of a guitar collector. 160 odd to be inexact.

Yeah, don't think they ever did a PCB reissue. Bloody good amp. Check if it has the original custom "aged" greenback. They're worth a pretty penny by themselves.

I'm such a big fan of them. Just the right amount of volume, just the right amount of dirt, just the right amount of midrange.

I’ve had about 37% of all 1974X’s in NZ at one point or another. At one stage I had three. I have no idea why/how that happened.

Great amps.

$3,195?

I sold every one of mine for $1500 each time. Clearly things are different (i.e. I am old).

If someone had offered me $2000 a year ago, I would have been buying. Provided they don't have those damn output transformers.

But I think the last time the RS had them they were upwards of $4500... Sooooo, value at $3195?

I can't remember the last time one came onto TradeMe. Not in the past two years.

Nice additions there, I bet that Marshall sounds utterly great. FWIW my Dad had that Blackstar model for a year or so although his was a bit temperamental so he ended up switching back to his Cornford. Said it did sound really good and plenty loud enough for even decent sized gigs

Look forward to seeing some pics of the Strat once it's been resurrected, be interesting to hear how it compares to the other high end ones you've had

Good to see Ady is still going and survived through COVID, he's a top bloke. Bought my R8 from him and have no problems recommending him if something on his site catches your eye, he's even a bit negotiable on price

Maybe I need a nice combo in my life :eh:
