'New' Offset Restored Day

Working slowly, took me almost a year to restore this... My first and last offset guitar
Anyway, things done to this 1966 SG-2:
- new medium frets
- made a new bridge pickup to replace the low output non original that was in there
- made new whammy bar - collet and the arm (moving in a teflon sleeve)
- cleaned and ironed the pickguard
- lots of other little things

I really like how Yamaha implemented truss rod access for adjustment on this guitar:

That looks great. it's so cool that you went to the effort to make a new pickup and whammy bar. I didn't know that you could iron a pickguard to make it flat.

Thanks, making them was worth it. You must be very careful not to overheat it and heat it from the back...

Straightening the pickguard with heat. Could not find the iron so used the next best thing ::)

Fine tuning the setup... straightened the neck some more, adjusted saddle height and intonation.... can now make the full step bend in T. Whiskey.

Nut glued in properly

The headstock is interesting - looks like a flamingo beak. I like the uniqueness of it.

I had the original cover but the pickup in it was very low output and not original. So I built a new one from scratch... thought I posted it on "what's on your workbench". Will check and update.

I could write a substantial list, but if you want a very drinkable, non-challenging (i.e. not some funky barrel-aged 11% monster) always dependable beer my standard is Sawmill IPA. Cans look after the beer better, but you can get it in cans or bottles.
