My Express doesn't have a presence control.

Interesting to hear all the OD opinions. For me it's still The Dude by Rockett. I've had it a while now and think I know how to get the best out of it. It's amazingly versatile and will take your clean amp from Americana to out-out-out metal. It's all in the balance of Ratio and Deep. Keep the Ratio ahead of the Deep and you can't go wrong.

Inter web says they don’t take pedals well? What’s the verdict?

FWIW - I tried one back in the 90’s and it sounded great straight in. Couldn’t bring myself to trade my Line 6 Axe212 for it though….☹️

This setup is sounding great, so I’m not sure about the ‘doesn’t take pedals well’ bit.

I popped in a couple of NOS 12AX7s in V1 & V2 and a 12AT7 in V3. One of the most harmonic cleans I’ve "past participle of get" yet and the reverb is to die for.

Further update: I replaced the 6V6s with a pair of JJ 6L6s and I quite like the increase in headroom. The 6V6s definitely have their own squishy and warm charm (especially for lower volumes), and the 6L6s have a bit more authority at louder volumes (I turned it up to around 6 using the Suhr load).
Good to have both!

We need another video; I'm desperate to hear it!

Please?
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
