Is that an original GigRig switcher thing? If so...impressive. You don't muck about do you.
It is. Prob the first in the country. At the time it was game changing, as there weren’t a lot of options around for programmable bypass looping.

I remember you could separate the brains from the footswitch - but you had to connect them with a ~70mm computer ribbon cable - not surprised that didn’t take off.

Did it compare to the G-System? Do you still use the GigRig...what were your impressions from either/both?

Had major arguments with TC over how noisy the G-system was - digital whistling and s*it….of course they denied…..but turns out they were wrong…..
What was the line-up? What did you use the GE-7 for?
The G-system was when I played with Simon Spire. Had to do lots of delays/funny sounds. The Gig rig was excellent, but you still had to tap dance to change delay times/presets. Both long gone now, although I fully rate the Gig Rig QMX for a basic looper.

The GE7 was for a solo boost - volume only - I wanted to be able to tweak the level easy, the G-System didn’t have a globally adjustable volume boost from memory, or it wasn’t easily accessible with shitty scroll menus and stuff.

Edit - now that I think of it, the V1 GSystem, while the effects sounded good, and the physical design was epic (solid milled aluminium!), the circuit design was terrible and completely unfit for purpose. The power system (which I think was early switchmode) introduced a terrible ground loop, and there were no isolated outputs. Cutting the ground, or inserting an isolating transformer on the output didn’t entirely fix the problem. And the whiny digital noise was rage inducing….

Peterson Tuner - nice. I have the same one for all my set up work. Sonic Research on the board, Peterson on the bench.

Who did all the work on your current tidy setup? My office board is a disgrace...or worse.

Flint's reverb sounds way better after the Iridium, and you can get fucked if you think otherwise.

Delay after reverb is conventionally weird... but you do hear the reverb more prominently that way.
Loving it so far

I pre-show tune with mine then use a boss or TC nova tuner mid show. The Peterson is fantastic, makes a big difference.

Self inflicted I’m afraid - The devil (kids in lockdown) made me do it.

I gave up on tuners. My Peterson felt like a plastic toy - it was gen 1 - the plastic thread on the jacks was all stripped and they wobbled. I could never get my sonic research to stop spinning. I tune individual strings on the Polytune, then a big strum and it’s telling me s*#t’s out. And I’ve had a bunch of clip-ons disappear - bet they’re in the same place as all those sh*tty thin Apple TV remotes…. 🤡

Me neither.

Have you both tried velcro'ing it onto a pedalboard?

I hope lockdown finishes soon, because I'm running out of floor space.
