Good ideas, thanks dudes. Definitely need to explore the modulation settings on the 500 more, I mainly stick to digital settings. The main reasoning was to fill up the space with something that wasn't a dirt pedal. That trem could be a good shout though, will look into it.

Current board level:

routing is guitar into the board - into the hx then into the es5, then either out to the amp or directly back into the hx.

I then either go back to the orange or use headphones.

I need to get some decent monitors as they would be waaay easier.

Can you give a bit more detail? I am considering something similar with my HX...ideally a setup where I can use the HX for all the time based effects when I want to use a real amp AND also the option of using the HX as an amp sim for when I'm feeling lazy. Looks like you may have done something similar, given the pedals I can see still left on your board?

What is your opinion of the es5? I like how small it is.

I have the option of keeping a Pigtronix midi delay on my board, to free up a bit of processing power on the HX.

Es5 is good, gives me a bunch if flexibility on routing as it means that I can reorder pedals, ie put the Rouge before the Orion for boosting the signal into it or after the later pedals. I also have it setup so I can use it to change channels on the Rocker to suit the pedals I have on. I even used to control my old Katana with it!

Looking to use it to also control the hx via midi.

Im using 4cm via the effects loop, which you can turn on and off via the stomp:

I just have the es between the HX and the amp(when using) and if not put the output from the ES into the return on the loop and put amp sim afterwards. Was actually quite surprised how well the stomp takes pedals too.

Have been looking at a MC6 as well but waiting to see i can get it all done via the es5.

Bit messy, but I'm waiting for some additions to arrive (Jim's mini vent 2 above :D ) and a pedal switcher. Thinking about making my own board to fit them all (or extending the trailer trash board somehow).

That’s gonna be a nice board Joe! Mini Vent II is all ready to go, I think you’ll enjoy it. Oh if you didn’t realise I think it has internal trimpots too, I never felt the need to adjust anything as the fast & slow speeds sounded great out of the box
