I have a mono-only effects switcher but three stereo time/modulation effects pedals. I want use the effects switcher to control everything using presets.

Can I have all the gain stages in the loops of the effect switcher, and the stereo pedals chained after the effects switcher output, but controlled by MIDI outputs from the switcher?
Yes you can. That's how a lot of people on the ES5/8 page on Facebook use them. Only downsize is you cant reorder the pedals outside of the loops.

Awesome, thanks for that.

Two of my gain pedals are MIDI-capable, but they frustratingly have stereo TS and TRS MIDI ports. Everything else is 5-pin DIN. Guess I'd need a compatible MIDI controller if I wanted to control them by gain too.

Some of the pedals are luxury items, hardly used, just very good at their respective 1 thing

Others would be tough to live without :lol: :lol:

I think I have been using a Sadowsky pre since the mid 90’s.

You should come around and have a go

My modest board. This is the standard, straighforward setup at the moment, but I experimented this afternoon with putting the A/B/Y after the tuner, followed by my little DOD clone, and running that into one input of the JC-22. Everything else went into the other input. I like how the DOD makes my clean sound a little fuller, and it was interesting to hear that underneath the much more heavily affected dirt sound (reverse reverb > BD-2 > delay). Cool also to wind up the gain on the DOD and have two flavours of OD, albeit not exactly polar opposite ones, in stereo. Or wet/dry/whatever. Put a bit of clarity under everything. Might try Big Muff in place of the DOD next.

TL:DR, stereo/wet dry is fun! :D

Signal path: tuner --> Alpha Haunt --> Saint Mantis --> Sunset --> Flint --> MD-500 --> Volante --> NightSky.

Everything from Flint inwards is stereo output, into two of a Deluxe Reverb, tweed 1x12 or 1974. Or an Iridium if I'm recording (not for sale).

Haven't worked out whether I should try and integrate a loop switcher or MIDI.

Haven't plugged in the NightSky or MD-500 yet.

From a cabling perspective, I'd prefer the MD-500 and Flint to swap position (as currently cable has two big diagonal runs). But the Boss has stupid angled footswitches which don't work well on the back row.

From an aesthetic perspective, I'd love to put the Sunset up top. It fits perfectly. However, my board doesn't have slots for cables on the back panel, so I need to leave gaps between the three back row pedals to run cables between them.
