Gutting is an understatement.
I was bummed out that I missed out on buying it as she was a beaut. I hope that you and the seller come to a mutual agreement to sort it out.
Thumbs up to Kev77 for the pick guard

Cheers man. I’m happy to have it back - the carcass is as lively and resonant as I remember.Jellybelly wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 10:30 am Gutting is an understatement.

I’ve wired the bridge pickup and repaired the stripped out screw holes, so I can at least play it while I figure out what I’m going to do with it longer term. One of the coils in the neck pickup appears to be dead too- but I may be able to repair that depending on where the break in the coil is. I may just write it off and get a new neck pickup when I can afford to.

Re: NGD: Bittersweet reunion
I’m even more shocked to know that he was trying to sell it to me for $1250 in this condition and with no electronics and dead pickups

Re: NGD: Bittersweet reunion
It’s entirely possible this was purchased solely as an investment, and as such its condition may have been considered irrelevant to the seller, as it was viewed solely as a pot of money.

Re: NGD: Bittersweet reunion
That's disgusting behaviour; I thought the unspoken rule was that you try to sell for cost, where possible, through the forum. Not always the case but, you know..
Talk to Glyn about rewinding that pickup maybe? I don't think that costs the earth and its guaranteed to kick ass.

Loving it so far

Re: NGD: Bittersweet reunion
That’s always been what I have felt. It is 100% not what the member in question thinks though. He has demonstrated time and time again that he doesn’t. Lowball offers, hiked up prices.
He made a tidy profit on this.

Re: NGD: Bittersweet reunion
May not require a full rewind. I’ve repaired pickups with broken windings before- quite easy if the break is near an end.
It’s cosmetically fucked though too- not really worth spending money on the pickup if I can’t fix it myself.

Re: NGD: Bittersweet reunion
Has the buy/sell part of the site always been public? I was selling some stuff on Facebook and someone (not a member) found the cheaper price I had it listed for here.

Re: NGD: Bittersweet reunion
Sorry to hear that. You'd like to think that dealing with a forum member would be a safe thing to do. The same person who did this to you has mucked me around too, but fortunately I was the seller and didn't end up losing anything.

Re: NGD: Bittersweet reunion
Initially it wasn't public but there were suggestions that selling should be fine just not allowing non-members (or members under 100 posts) to sell.
I'm happy to lock it off if there is a consensus.
Its disappointing this has happened, however there are always 2 sides to a story and other cliches etc.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.
