NOD

Post by k1w1 »

New offset day. The Squier Starcaster arrived this morning without incurring duty or tax, Customs must be snowed under  Have Squier ever got their shit together, the fit and finish on this is flawless, not a mark or finish/binding flaw anywhere. Beautiful burst too.

The frets are really well dressed not a sharp or protruding one and the neck edges have been nicely rolled. The neck will take some getting used to, a little thinner depth wise than I am used to but nice heft width wise.

Really comfortable to play sitting, typical offset perches nicely. Surprisingly loud acoustic and the body was a little larger than expected but very light. The pickups are really clear and defined and have a little single coil chime but sound great, definitely a humbucker but different at the same time from normal humbuckers.

Sweetwater really do a fantastic job their inspection and packing was great, factory box put in another box with packing top and bottom.

Never thought I'd see Squier's attaining these standards.

Mike my Squier Jazzmaster was much the same and both were made in Indonesia, their quality on the Classic Vibe and Vintage Modified range is top notch.
