New Jazzmaster turned up today but I’ve got so much work on at the moment that I only had time for a quick strum. Long enough to confirm I’ve forgotten how to play after a couple of months sans gear, though.

Anyway it’s very pretty and seems to ring like a piano. Might get to play it properly and do a proper NGD thread on the weekend.

I knew it wouldn't take long for someone to suggest this.

I ordered a parchment guard when I bought the guitar but my order was cancelled because covid. Parchment would be more 'correct' for a '65(ish) Jazzmaster, and would look much nicer with the neck binding, I think. But I love tort, and the guard on this looks way better in person. My picture above makes it look darker than it is an obscures some of the details. Don't think I'll bother ordering another parchment.

I just want to say, for the record, mint green pickguards are ugly. There, I've said it. And I'm shuddering at the thought.

That looks perfect the way it is.

Mint green looks good in a Thickshake (mmmmm, spearmint). That's about it.

Speaking of "bad word", I love wimpy pastel colours. I have a Surf Green Strat myself. Had I not needed funds I would've kept my Oly White one too! So, no, they were not bad words in my books.
