Re: Show Us Your Guitar
The first, and one of only a few signature guitars I’ve ever wanted! Tom Delonge ES333. Made for one thing and one thing only. To play fast So-Cal pop, punk rock.
It’s actually an Epiphone model, the Gibson CS ones are now unbelievable money, but I re-spec’d everything possible to the CS version to make it look like the original one. A couple friends and myself have just started a Blink 182 tribute as a fun side project so it was a great excuse to buy it!
Who knew brown with a cream racing stripe would ever look so great on a guitar…

Epic.
One of my dreams to play in a covers band that does one iconic album in its entirety per set. Enema of the State, Weezer's Blue album, Colour and the Shape, etc...

Re: Show Us Your Guitar
Thanks, Rob! Was so stoked to get my hands on one.
Man, this is actually an idea we’ve discussed doing at a later stage, once we’re up and running. Such a cool idea! Doing Enema and the Untitled album in full would be awesome shows. Think we’re playing about 7 tracks from each of them already in the initial setlist so it won’t really be that much more work.
Colour and the Shape and Blue album would be great right?! A few of my favourite bands have done tours like this which I would love to have seen but sadly haven’t made it to NZ. I almost managed to get over to Melbourne to see Thrice doing ‘Artist in the Ambulance’ in full last year but unfortunately I couldn’t quite make it.

Re: Show Us Your Guitar
That would have been epic. AITA had a huge influence on my playing and songwriting in the mid 00's, and it's their best work I think; takes all the rawness of their earlier albums but has a more polished technicality to it. The re-recorded version from last year is still high on my playlist.

Yeah, I was super bummed I couldn’t get there. It would have been amazing!
What an album, right?! I was nervous when I heard they were re-recording it, but I think they totally killed it. Dustin’s voice has aged so greatly, and the production is awesome! My favourite of theirs is probably’To be everywhere is to be Nowhere’. That album is unreal.

Re: Show Us Your Guitar
You can definitely hear they were favouring a guitar tone that's more in line to their later material with the 'less gain/more master" sound. Dustin's clarity improved over time vocally. I'm a fan of Vheissu but lukewarm on most of the later material as a whole, though lots of great individual tracks.sihirst wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 10:05 amThe Scarecrow wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:10 amThat would have been epic. I have a CD copy of If We Could Only See Us Now that a friend of mine had signed by Dustin and Teppei around '06 when she saw them in the USA, they're still on my bucket list of bands that I tried to see when I lived in the California between 2008-09 but they were always touring way out of the state.

Re: Show Us Your Guitar
Really happy to get my old Greco back. For those that don’t know it’s a 1975 EG800 Shigeru Narumo, this was the highest spec for that year with a gorgeous ebony fretboard, MOP inlays and basically LP Custom specs as this model was the launchpad for that
Chur had it for the weekend just giving the electronics some love. It’ll head up to Grant next year for a refret. Anyway, it’s lovely

Getting ready to sell a few items and had everything out of their cases. Took a couple of team pics for the almanac.
