Well, that just means you get to author your own history for it
[flashback] [wavy off focus] I'm pretty sure I saw that guitar played by Jimmy Page/Leslie West/Martin Barre/Duane Allman at a festival in Boston, oh... about 2 years before I was born [/wavy off focus] [/flashback]

yep, and to be on the safe side you always put the disclaimer "Rumoured" in front of this..
e.g.
"This is the guitar rumoured to have been thrown off stage at the Led Zeppelin concert in 1972 at the Hollywood Bowl etc"
Should work a treat

So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.
My Number 1
1999 American Deluxe Fat Strat
The most versatile guitar I have ever played.
Since this pic was taken I've changed the white moto pickguard to a slightly yellowish moto guard (scratch plate to you blokes). Looks much better with the yellowy one. Also the knobs are chrome like a Tele but rounded, not flat on top.
Here is the infamous LP I told you about a year and a half ago. It's a 2003 Les Paul Standard Plus. There were some quality issues with the neck and also with the decorative binding. Also I didn't care for the burstbuckers it came with so I sold it.
Now here is a guitar which may spark some discussion. It's a 2004 Epiphone Les Paul Standard and I know some of you will say I'm speaking blasphemy but I like this guitar infinately better that the Gibson pictured above. I find it has a better standard of fit and finish and the fret work is also better. When this pic was taken, it had Gibson '57 classic pups in it. They were chosen as a direct result of the help you lads gave me when my friend was asking me for help choosing pickups last year. Today the guitar has SD Pearly Gates in it. I've been trying different pups with it to get a feel for the Gibson universe. I figure an Epiphone is an inexpensive way to do those kinds of experiments.
That's my 1972 Silver Face Vibrolux Reverb you can see behind the guitars.

Sorry, mate. The Gibson is history.
I don't know which pup is at the bridge on the Strat. What ever was stock for that year. Isn't that silly? I really should find out what's in there I suppose. Whatever it is, I like it. I guess that's why I've never bothered to know it's name.
Yes the colour is called "transparent purple" but it's really more of a deep wine with subtle purple hues.
Ash body.

I tried it out a couple of times in the Rockshop. Wasn't too keen on the neck, a bit thick for my tiny little matchseller hands. But I loved the rest of it! It was in there for over a year. By the time I had the reddies, the bugger had been sold Love the one I bought though
