The nuances of his technique is definitely there but the tone is wayyyyy off :(

Yup! Its awesome he has enough depth in his catalog that he can show tribute to his influences and not get slammed for being a copycat :-)

Yeah he's obviously referencing classic moments in pop guitar history but walking on the right side of copying. The whole band is, to be honest. Listen to the drum fills and tone on this compared to Sultans of Swing. The synth lines on Last Train Home compared to Africa.

Is there another artist that people go so full retard over copying their gear? Grey dimarzio cliplock straps being unobtainable now....
