had a great Spotify afternoon, down the rabbit hole of reminiscing aussie 80s bands which made me decide my teenage years were very lucky
Flowers/Icehouse, Noiseworks, Divynils ,Aus Crawl ,the Church, the Angels Baby Animals,Screaming Jets, Choir Boys
and that's without hitting anything big like INXS Chisel Oils Hunters Hoodoo G,
Aussie pub scene really produced some great guitar playing bands

Re: Aussie Pub Rock
Some great music outa that scene. Used to, and have recently rediscovered all that Aussie rock I shared with my mates and most of my early teens. H&Cs 1st 3 albums.Amazing. Love Jaws of Life. Thats on high rotation. Place without a Postcard The Oils, brilliant. Tons of other stuff too. A bit later on who likes Creul Sea?

Re: Aussie Pub Rock
When I lived in Melbourne, my local pub band was Men at Work.
And just down the road, Mental as Anything were regulars.
Also went to ACDC's triumphant and incredibly loud homecoming gig after they made good on the world stage.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I have personally had Paul Stuarts Tounge in my ear.
uninvited just in case you were wondering
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Re: Aussie Pub Rock
Gospel of the Horns? they were frikken great, I was trying to think of stand out bands from or who played regularly around Melbourne from the mid 80s to the end of the 90`s
some of the lesser known bands anyway.
there are more:
Asunder (NZ Band I used to help a fair bit)
manic suede
HOOP
Paul Williamson's Hammond quartet
my memory is pretty tattered so I`ll add more as I remember them
