New Red Hot Chili Peppers single out today.. Opinions?

Post by MilitantCynic »

So the new single, "The Adventures Of Raindance Maggie", was officially released today. Has anyone else heard it yet? Here is the link:

What do you think? It certainly wasn't what I was expecting of their lead single, it just sounds a bit B-side to me, but still very Chillies. Loved the verse, especially the cowbell :D but the chorus weirded me out somewhat. Maybe I just listen to too much metal these days, so a happy melody sounds funny now haha :P Still hanging out for the album to be released!

Not bad, though I like the verses better than the boring-ass chorus.

agreed. I liked it, nice departure from SA, but then again I'm a fanboi. Although my Froosh fanboism probably should overide my RHCP fanboism and make me hate it or something

Yeah it wasn't great. Bring back the retarded party boy Blink 182 then we'll talk.

But it was still better IMHO than the RHCP single...

I thought it was all good. I don't tend to like the singles they release as much as the other songs on albums. There is something about their singles that reeks of "dulled down and suitable for radio".
Will be interesting when the album comes out/they start playing live to see how Josh takes elements of Froosh's style and mixes with his own flare.
And cow bell FTW :D

Sounded pretty cool to me, quite catchy, but the chorus is a bit cheesy. I liked the guitar playing - bet another new Chillies guitarist? Where's Fruciante this time? Rehab again?

quit to pursue solo stuff. His last solo album was a masterpiece IMO but that was 4 years ago, around the time he left the band, wish he'd either stay in the chilis or be productive as a solo musician but he's a perfectionist and hates touring so not gonna happen
