Re: Post-Rock Artists
Gig last night was amazing, Myriad Drone who opened were incredible, a couple of ex chch boys, a french drummer, and a japanese bass player all based in Melbourne now... Russian Circles were amazing, zero crowd interaction apart from waving as they left the stage but the wall of sound the created live was something to behold! The bass player was also triggering some bass synth stuff with a foot controller as well as looping stuff and Mike the guitarist was doing crazy loops and blending it with other effects, wild, there was no quiet time from start to finish, even when they had breaks between songs he would loop something to fill the quiet... so good.

Re: Post-Rock Artists
There were some toan nerds there though, there was a lot of leaning over trying to get photos of Mikes pedalboard and waffling on about various pedals on it, I probably should have made friends with them

Re: Post-Rock Artists
This is going to sound patronising but I'm being quite sincere...
One thing I don't understand about post-rock... Is it meant to have memorable, hummable melodies or is that superseded?
Or is it like bebop where it all goes over my head?
I ask because I do like post-rock a lot but aside from a pleasant 40 odd minutes per album, I don't really remember much afterwards.

For me it’s about the feeling in the moment, so very relatable to your commentsVince wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 8:36 pm This is going to sound patronising but I'm being quite sincere...
