Q for Welli bass players

Post by Conway »

My brother in law in Wellington is a bass player - well double bass mainly, but he has a cheap bass that he’s not totally happy with. He thinks it needs a decent set up and maybe a pickup upgrade. He’d like to have someone check it out and give him some advice. Who’s the go to guy for basses down there?

thanks for the advice, yeah Rob did the work on my bass, and it plays well beyond what it's supposed to or ever has in the past. It's no custom shop, but it'll do for me till someone sells me a cheap Jazz, I'm no Marcus Miller so the custom shop job can wait till I win lotto or Conway can do me a deal that gets him committed and bankrupt in the same day. What Rob did though, night and day difference in both sound and playability, and he had some good advice for what to do next.
You play better than me but that's OK because I'm better looking.
