Well almost complete—just waiting for knobs to arrive (ooer).

Pretty happy with how it's turned out. Grabbed a Fender Rumble 200 a little while ago to play it through. Still finding my feet when it comes to bass playing, but sounds good so far.

Looking good! Liking the colour combo.

Those Fender rumbles are pretty cool too. Definitely will be grabbing one of those if I get an excuse to play bass again.

Cheers all. Yep, it's a parts bass. Bit of an expensive way to go but I had fun putting it together and got exactly the bass I envisaged. The body is from Warmoth and the neck is an Allparts job from an eBay seller who applies a very thin lacquer finish (I can tell it's going to wear quickly!), fits a nut, and files and polishes the frets. They've made a really nice job of it. I was concerned the prefitted nut wouldn't work out but, fortunately, it seems to have been cut for the string gauge I chose and in my total novice bassist's opinion, playability and action seem ideal. I did shim the neck to get the action right though.

The body is Sonic blue. The pictures don't quite show the softness to the colour. It's a very difficult finish to photograph.

So tasty, I’m almost ready to put together a parts pbass with a Lakland Chi-sonic pup in the regular pbass spot.
