Was wondering if you'd go flats

Did you like it with the Mesa pre?

I may yet – got some hanging about. I'm into my roundwounds at the moment.

Mesa Pre has very nice nice tones, but my Tonehammer still rules the roost.
Got one of those little Ampeg Classic Analog Pedals – excellent for instantly coping the Ampeg vibe.

I'd have a go if it was a V or fretless
No way I can go another active 4 string

Sure did!
That was a fun one, but that RB4 was probably the one I'd have preferred

“Yes, it has been set up wonderfully, for me. Not you. So you’ll need to change it all anyway.”

The Precision is filthy

No, get the scotchbrite stuff. Its way kinder and you don't get steel particles everywhere.

and get some solvol! It really does last a virtual lifetime - use sparingly!

And if you really need to shine something, start with wet and dry, 800 through to 1200, then use solvol as the lubricant. Then turn the wet and dry over and just use the paper on the back.... I've used that for years, it takes things from dull to mirror. No need to go higher than 1200, just use the autosol.
