A non-destructive way is to wrap a bit of tread tape around it.bender wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 9:49 amRad guitar! The tremelo arm works well, but is very lose and yet on the Squier Bass VI seems to be no problem. Very strange.
There's a long list of cool songs done on the VI actually (Beatles of course amongst others)
A loose tremolo arm is an easy fix- just give the portion of it that fits into the collet a gentle bend. I’ve been doing that on Jazzmasters for years.

That doesn’t work as well. The amount of bend you need is minuscule- definitely wouldn’t call it destructive.H671 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 10:25 amA non-destructive way is to wrap a bit of tread tape around it.bender wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 9:49 amRad guitar! Re: Anyone like bass guitars?
This works. Yet another option is a Staytrem collet — a nicely machined bit of kit with a nylon sleeve inside that stops the flop and means the arm rotates real smooth. I have one on my Jazzmaster. Bonus is that the replacement vibrato arm is nicely curved and more vintagey looking than the stock Fender one.

I didn't really have any issues with the stock collet, apart from the metal on metal being occasionally squeaky, and the Staytrem one's about 15% better overall. Sometimes it's the small details that are the most satisfying, though.

Fender Long Horn Fretless
L2 Steinberger
2EQ Stingray Fretless
The Boss BF-2B Flanger is certainly in use for the Gothy / Post Punk stuff

Himate,
Apologies, been in OZ and just got back today. Probably put them on a very interesting bass which should turn up tomorrow. All will be revealed

No, but it's older than that.

Re: Anyone like bass guitars?
All will be revealed this weekend.
I still haven't unpacked it as I have been "negotiating"with "her indoors" regarding my latest purchase. The news was broken this morning and my marital status will be clarified by the end of the day.
Currently looking at outside overnight temperatures. This may or may not be related

p.s. It's more of an interesting purchase as opposed to a "wow".
