Spill!
All will be revealed this weekend.
I still haven't unpacked it as I have been "negotiating"with "her indoors" regarding my latest purchase. The news was broken this morning and my marital status will be clarified by the end of the day.
Currently looking at outside overnight temperatures. This may or may not be related ;-)

p.s. It's more of an interesting purchase as opposed to a "wow".
Oh Kay?
My first guitar was a Kay. It was fucking awful :(
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Unpacked the bass. It was very well packaged.
I won't be restringing it just yet as it needs a fair bit of work to make it playable. Unfortunately a bit of borer amongst other things. But I'm happy (and allowed in the house ;-) )
Hard to pinpoint the year, but it's sometime between 1954 & 1960. A Resonet Arco Upright bass. John Paul Jones used one for a while.
A very unusual instrument :-)

Tasty I'm sure, at least the missus has allowed you back into the abode. I used to go to 'jazz club' back in the old town. Guy who played the upright had a hunched back, this is a far better option :)

Hi folks. I 'need' to buy a set of Gotoh GB350 tuners. Anyone know a good source for Gotoh products?
(I did buy some from guitarparts.co.nz a few years ago, but it took an awfully long time and the price wasn't great).

I tried to buy some recently on ebay but only shipping option was USPS and they won't ship to NZ currently, tried a british outfit and they shipped via DPD who also won't ship to NZ and so they were returned to them... painful.... ended up going to Thomann where shipping is EXPENSIVE but is worthwhile if you need some other stuff at the same time as you can save a lot on NZ prices :)

Interesting, I hadn't heard of those before. I see that yours are black chrome. However I'm after gold ones. Thanks anyway.
