I’m going to need a refret on a Wenge fingerboard

I think it’s a job for Peter Stephens

Anyone had any work done there recently? I’m hoping it’s not a 28 day or 6 week turnaround time

We're looking for a bass player for a pop and rock covers band in Auckland. Any interest from any of you?

Played a made in China sadowsky today. Nice feel and sound.

Hard to get past the origin snobbery. I wonder what resale would be like.
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

No this one was in a shop.

Bassmen!

Causes of humm / hiss from a MM4 style active preamp? Its Vol + 2 band EQ, rolling both EQs right down and the volume back a bit, and its useable, but whats the point of an active preamp if you can't use the EQ options?

Worth trying to troubleshoot or should I just replace it all with a passive setup?

Any thoughts on MM4 style pickups? Glyn doesn't make them, imagine I'll have to order something online. SD Alnico V seems the obvious option. 2 coils so could run Vol Vol Tone, wired like a Jazz?

All my basses were very quiet. Mostly because I never plugged them in.

The blue bass has returned.

Last time I had it, don’t think I even knew it was active. Don’t remember if I ever plugged it in.

Quite a hiss/ hum playing through the Waza headphones, particularly with the treble turned up. Might be different through a proper amp, but I don’t have one of those yet. Andreas is 2 mins up the road, so might get him to take a look.
