The yellow one?

I'll buy an optical compressor sooner rather than later, but ... yeah I can't quite spring for that wonderful piece of pedalboard decoration.

I look for stuff like that on the ol' electronic bay. Everything I've read or watched suggests it's an awesome piece of kit but it's just not in sight yet lol

Never been able to gel with bass compressors, I suspect reducing dynamic range is just a non-starter in the styles I play.

I find that in general i don't get on with bass or guitar compressor pedals. I think it's far better to compress after the microphone like you would in a studio

I gave the big rig a bit of a go today
And I'm definitely in favor of a high quality comp pedal

It may not be the correct term but used in the 'right' way there is certainly a benefit in body or fullness of tone.

Anyone use a VCA Comp for Bass Guitar?

Faffing around with one at the moment, not sure quite what is going on but definitely like it on the top end
