The Crowther Prunes and Custard is quite an idiosyncratic pedal that I will spend some time with

It’s got an interesting relationship with the other pedals on the board.

Early days but if you see one probably worth a go. Might just be a bit fiddly

I was too dumb to know what it did when I owned it.

I bought a hotcake and a prunes and custard at the same
time, when I was a wee lad. Had no idea what to do.

So Prunes and Custard the mix dial is certainly a thing

It also has this engage with other pedals thing going on...a drive or the OC-2 in front of it is likely holy smoke but it totally absorbs an envelope Filter

But put the filter behind the P and C ....

Could be quite a lot of time sussing get this one out. Even the guitar - bass - low freq switches aren’t exactly what I thought.

How does the diamond mini compare to the original? Is it still 18volt?

Well I don’t know why I bought it , completely unnecessary
I love the BCP-1
So now I have 2 Diamond Bass Compressor Pedals because I cannot bring myself to sell either

I also own both the Diamond Mini and the original BCP-1. The Mini is still 18 volts, but its smaller size and flexibility make it a handy addition. Totally get the struggle of parting with one – they each have their charm!

Diamond Comp Jnr or the new SGFX/Diamond BCP EQ?

I never used the Jnr. The SGFX relaunch in my opinion doesn’t have headroom issues with an Active 5 w/flats at 9v so I have never used it at 18v yet

I'm wanting a good envelope filter. I've been researching and there seems to be quite a difference between what they do. I would like one that sounds funky - the 'pop/quack' sound, but not lose all the bottom end.

I would appreciate opinion from my learned forumites. What are you guys using and why?

I can't be much help, but I used to have a Dr-Q and wasn't that moved by it. I sold it on trade me and before the guy picked it up I discovered that the trim pot inside makes a huge difference (I think it controls how much signal it takes to trigger the effect). I wished I hadn't sold it, it sounded way better with an adjustment.

I think they're on the 'hard to find' list.

Yes, sensitivity seems to be fundamental to the final outcome.
