Bass effects!

I plug straight into the amp when playing live, but this is great fun for jamming and such.

Any tips on the order of effects appreciated.

Me, I would go tuner -> QTron -> bass fuzz -> factotum -> cali76 -> BF-2B -> Alpha Omega

Effects like the QTron like a clean signal to work best, putting the compressor after dirt means you can crank them but keep your volume level steady when you go from clean to dirty... preamp at the end to shape the sound with the EQ

I like to compress at the start to give the whole chain a consistent tone, drive into fuzz to give a “MOAR” stack -> modulation, then use Alpha Omega as an Amp Emulator.

Another, probably better, chain is to swap the Cali to be after the Q-Tron to catch any big signal spikes

With compressor placement you definitely have to find what works best for you, I've always been a first in chain kind of guy with it, but now finding a couple of my fuzz pedals sound best with no buffer before and loud AF so need to control that volume jump, these are the times when you wish you had a G3 or similar and can easily swap the order of pedals

The Cali into the Dark Glass alone sounds warm and fat! I like the flanger and the sub together - The Cute (edit, The Cure), Faith sorta.

Yeh, the flanger sounds much better after the comp and the QTron has been tamed.

Success! The El Grande appears to be a big muff derivative of some kind so its gonna be quite happy to be after buffers and compressors etc... at least in my experience they are

The Q Tron has a send/return loop. Apparently sending the signal to a fuzz is cool. I'll give it a whirl.

I now use a Whammy but it's only for Tool stuff really. I've tried quite a few others.

If it's for a synth-bass type effect, you can't beat a Boss OC-2 or the OC-5's emulation of it. For general use, I think the TC Sub'n'Up is more than capable. Aguilar Octamizer is probably the fattest octave-down tone of the bunch, and it tracks really well.

That said - I would probably look at the Source Audio C4 as a swiss army knife. It does all the octave stuff you'd ever need and then some.
