Re: Bass effects!
I think I need one
$400 US apparently!!
The sooner this solidgoldfx Beta v turns up the better so I can potentially offload some other pedals.

Re: Bass effects!
So bass effects people, what are the essential bass effects for playing pop covers?
Getting back into bassing, and last time (12 years ago) all I had was bass -> amp -> tuner.
Reading this thread makes me think Im missing out and a whole fresh load of GAS. What am I missing out on here?

Re: Bass effects!
I don't really use many effects for covers; a bit of overdrive, maaaaaybe some chorus. I'm keen on an envelope filter but am saving for a Moogerfooger, because they're the only ones I like. My whammy is really only used on a couple of Tool songs, and as a creative thing for originals.
The secret sauce for bass in a covers band is the 'utility' stuff - preamp, EQ and compression. I'm keen to experiment with the Empress' sidechain function to see if that can bring a bigger live sound.

Re: Bass effects!
Not sure anything is essential
Obviously I like some compression. Pub Rawk covers I have a proper overdrive (Free The Tone)
Pop stuff maybe a chorus or flanger and probably a decent envelope filter / wah.
