Ooh ooh! Don't sleep on G&L Tributes in that price range.
I've got a white with black pickguard Tribute SB-2 (ie this in a different colour https://www.musicplanet.co.nz/bass/bass ... x-red.html)
I love it... using it for hard rock/nearly metal. Tuned to drop B, so pretty low. and using a Darkglass B3k clone for dirt.
Sounds immense - those pickups are strong as shit, so its a bit "gruntier" than your average P bass. Like i nearly use the "active" input on some amps.

Hi, if that bass is local it would be worth giving it a try.sopachrga wrote:Yeah 35” and MIJ.foal30 wrote:Is it 35" scalesopachrga wrote:I have been offered a 90s Yamaha TRB 5. Are they any good? The demos on youtube seem good....
Is it MIJ
What are the electronics
Standard Yamaha actives. It’s pretty well used...
IME - listen to how noisy the electronics are. If it's not an issue for you then it looks like a very nice instrument with resell potential.

Re: Bass guitar decisions
If you like the stingray thing then check out the cheaper ones.
I played an Indonesian made one - not sure if it was a Stirling Ray34, something like that. Was superb to play, and had a good aggressive pick up. Little over a grand at the RS. Tried a real music man to compare, 3x the price, didn't feel as nice to play or sound as good to my ear.
