The 3 minute daily challenge!

Post by jeremyb »

So been thinking about an idea to get me playing guitar every day, and thought maybe some others would be keen to join in and it would be a fun community thing?

So here is the idea, you record a youtube short every day, they're limited to 3 minutes so you don't need to invest a lot of time, the effort involved is minimal cause all you need is your phone or a camera or a webcam or whatever you have handy, record yourself playing ANYTHING for up to 3 minutes, it doesn't matter if its acoustic, electric into an amp or modeller or plugin on your computer or whatever you have, upload it to youtube, and share it on here so we have a bit of a contract going on with each other.

Thoughts?
How can I be sure I'm here?
The pills that I've been taking confuse me...

Too hard.
Do you have any idea how much time it would take me to record 3 minutes of different music every day?
I can give the impression of being a good player; as long as I play for less than 90 seconds.
30 seconds on Piano.

I get what you're saying, but that is kind of the idea, push ourselves for improvement, but also it doesn't have to be 3 minutes, thats just the hard limit

It's a good idea. If I can get to my guitar I will try to give it a crack.

It's a great idea; I hope many folks take it up.
But Jeremy, this task requires technology that has never felt the warmth of a cheerful valve.
And I was born before 1964.

So I was gonna start this today, but I had an issue with clipping on the Headrush FRFR-GO's, so after a bunch of fiddling it turns out the UAFX amp pedals output is really hot so dropped that down to 9 o'clock and it sounds great again... when I was running just one, to get stereo I was plugging into the line in from the UAFX Enigmatic's outputs... and it must have some kind of cut on it... anyway... my new cheapo phone condenser mic arrived today so stay tuned tomorrow for some horrible noise!

This, but minus the piano.

Mine would just be a different guitar / amp, and a different backing-track, but exactly the same playing.
