On a guitar forum you have to trick us into actual playing. Start a thread saying "do you think rosewood or maple fretboard sound better?", and then invite the most vocal local to bring their gear to your practice venue to settle the argument. From there it's just peer pressure to stay and practice, then guilt them into the first show.
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

Must be new here. Doesn't know most of us haven't played guitar since the 1980s.
