Jamming mates in Auckland

Post by quyet »

Hello family,

My name's Chris. I am getting back into playing after a decade long hiatus. I guess after a couple of months, however long it takes to get some good calluses or for lock down to be over, I will be keen to play with some other musicians. Not looking to start a band necessarily, but just have some fun. Perhaps it's the lockdown blues and unemployment that has driven me back to this passion. I've also moved back to NZ with my wife after 7 years in Vietnam, so it would be a good way to socialise.

I am mainly into indie, classic pop/rock, new wave and jingle-jangle stuff (Dunedin sound?). Big fan of bands like The Smiths and The Who, etc.

Please message me if you'd like to chat. My house is not suitable for amplifiers, but I've got a car. Located near the CBD.

For what it's worth, I got to Cert 3 (TAFE over in Aus) in classical and flamenco guitar back when I was a teenager and have a diploma in sound engineering, so I felt comfortable with performance, basic music theory and recording - we will see if it comes back!

Note: please don't give me GAS

I know they're pretentious and a bit tacky, but I'm a huge fan of figured wood guitar cabinets.

Hi, I'm not sure if you need it but I'm a vocalist? I also play guitar but really really want to be singing with people.

Do you need anyone to sing or is this mostly an instrumental jamming session? :)

Hi Millie,
Happy to jam with a vocalist any time. I can provide drums and I have a friend who plays bass so if you wanna jam let me know.
