I found this: seems it was designed that way...

Those values seem high to me, coming from the Strat & LP world, as I do. Especially given the Jag pickups are not that hot. Did you try a 500k pot & 47k capacitor?

Just a thought, I've wondered about using stacked pots in a Tele, so I can have two independent vol&tone circuits, 250k and 500k. You can get stacked pots with different values 250k&500k, 500k&1Meg. Could be fun to play with, especially if you have strange pickup combinations.

I'm.just running with the stick 1 meg pots. Factory. Same as JM wiring.
I will do a complete new harness I think. I see the american pro set up is more akin to a strat with no 58k resistor and a more convenientional tone and vol pit value. Cheers

Yeah the wudtone worked so great! especially for someone like me who doesn't have any prior experience finishing a guitar, nor a workspace to ventilate a paint booth and such, I'm eyeing up their faded fiesta red kit for my next telemaster build.

It’s not nitro, apparently. All of their products are water-based. The website reckons nitro dulls the tonez.

Before nitro, acoustic instruments were French polished for an even thinner and less protective finish. I expect when nitro came along all the gear snobs were very disparaging. :-)

I am a complete sceptic when it comes to tonal effects of paints, especially on electric guitars. But nitro just ages the right way in my eyes.

I would have thought that before the interweb there were no gear snob congregations that widely dispersed disparaging communications
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Except for one very bad side effect... as nitro ages it goes yellowy which can turn a blue guitar a bit greenish!!! :o

This has forced me to sell a PRS I really liked! :( To Keon's benefit.
