Offset chat
Thought I'd start (probably restart as I'm sure there must have been similar threads in the past ) a safe place for those of us with a fetish for the asymmetrical axes... Jags, jazzies, 'tangs n all things quirky.
Feel free to post, share, ask, display anything and everything offset related. No need to be ashamed of your funny buzzy bridges, saddles that do a better job skinning knuckles than holding strings on and odd scale lengths.

Re: Offset chat
I've just had the 64' Jag on the workshop bench and finally got round to doing a set up with some 12-52s (plain non wound 20g g string).
Anyone else run 12s in their jags ?
I'm REALLY liking it. Snappy, percussive and of course a bit thicker sounding.
Thought I might need to give the truss a tickle but hasn't needed much other than a slight adjustment on the mastery bridge.
Happy times

Re: Offset chat
Got any pics?
I just got my “Jag” (custom
Built hollow body shaped like a Jag) refretted with stainless Steel
And it seems even snappier than
Before! Here’s my old generic rig pic but the only decent recent photo I have of it.

Re: Offset chat
I’ve posted a pic or two recently but here’s another. I feel like the colour looks accurate in this one—at least on my screen. And the tort guard is back.

Re: Offset chat
Thats a lovely looking JM

I actually went for the same tort and blue for my 64 jag (which arrived with a mint guard initially)

Re: Offset chat

Cant find my other jag shots but il get some at practice today if I remember.
Here is a afamily portrait from a few years ago.
I no longer have the red jag or coronado.
The others a re circa 2000 yomano AVRI JMs with matching headstocks.
The jag is a 1964. I have the original pups but this one has fender 65 jag pickups. Great guitar. Grant refreted it some years a back. Has all the right wear and tear.

My only foray into Offsets, the Radian Forumcaster.
Don't talk to me about failure; sometimes I even fail to disappoint myself.

This pic, I have some wound by Baja electronics locally to a vintage Strat type of spec. Think they were 6.3k or there abouts.
I prefer 10-52s on this but have generally gone with 11s on previous Jazzmasters.

This just in. Had a great surfy morning. Listened to surf music all the way to the beach, got waves and totally obliterated over shallow sand then got home to enjoy how WELL the jaguar feels with 12s. Gosh some days just rule. Happy offsetting fellow offsetters
