Broken tele pickup - help/advice

Post by Jake »

Hey friends, last night I plugged the tele in and the neck pickup was completely kaput.

Opened it up and resoldered all the joints etc. No dice.
Checked it on the multimeter and getting no reading. Not encouraging.

For the time being I've popped the stock pickup back in. Any advice for what to do? Guessing there must be a break in the coil somewhere... it's a Seymour Duncan STR-1 Vintage Tele

The problem is often just where the thick connection wires connect to the windings.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

+1 he can fix it for you :) but of course the real answer is to buy a set of his pickups, they are epic!!

Yep, check the reading direct to the pickup wires - disconnected
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.
