I picked up a MH-350 NT recently and am hoping to project it a bit.
I really like the neck through, and the string through body hard tail, but I hate the binding on it
I’d like to strip it back to wood and take the binding off
Does anyone have experience taking the paint off ESP LTD guitars. I hear a heat gun may be the go from trawling the net.

Re: LTD beater project
I attempted it, i bought a silverburst EC50 off trade me a few years ago. I took all the paint off, under the paint is a SUPER hard layer of epoxy. I wasn't able to shift that. I left it at that stage, it looks black now with two strange glue lines where the piece of wood were joined. Surprisingly neck is made of maple. I might repaint it at some stage, I`m intrigued by the idea of gluing the neck in the same way the guy from Crimson Guitars did on YouTube with a kit guitar he put together
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.
Re: LTD beater project
Thanks for sharing your experience with the ltd guitar. Do you have any pictures of how yours turned out?
Sounds like that epoxy layer would be a whole lot of sanding, or risk using more aggressive sanding
As for the binding channel, I was wondering about routing the corner off into a curve? Would have to do the back to match.
There's no way to take out the neck binding though so I'd need to figure out how to tie it in there.
That Crimson Guitars channel has a lot to answer for eh? Now I want to tear apart and fiddle with most of my guitars.
HIs use of fire on his burnt tele really interested me,

the LED lights inside the body, that guy is nuts. I like his posh accent and head tats.
I would just paint over the epoxy layer
