Nice.

Yeah it's funny how those little details can be so irritating. My Rasmus (which is a Suhr copy) didn't have the original knobs when I got it and I didn't know where to get the exact ones. In my search to improve it I got black speed knobs, but they weren't quite right. Thankfully some kind dude on the Suhr FB page sent me his spare Suhr modern knobs which are perfect. :)

Not keen on the finger shredders. I'm actually a big fan of the speed knobs - they're easier to use. So yeah.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

I'm such a rudimentary player I'm not worried that much about control adjustment. As an old school detail, I love it and it's just the kind of simple detail I'm into. Totally pedantic I know!

Yeah, just watch your finger ends!
I've never liked the cheesegraters, but I can live with top hats. Though I do tend to change all out to speedknobs if I'm gigging. Just what I'm used too, even put little elastic bands on them so they aren't slippy :D

I find the numbers helpful in a way. If I'm riding the volume for certain songs live its nice to set the pot before you start playing. It's not needed but I like the feature.

I think my LP Classic had those, or maybe the Custom Shop LP I had before it, or was it my SG? I dunno. I never shredded my fingers on the metal pointy bit, but I did not use the volume control much back in those days. Now days i almost always do. Middle position with a little more bridge pup than neck is often really nice. Quite often 10 is a bit much and the sweet spot is around 8. It all seems to depend on what kind of mood my amp is in or something. Yeah, agree. Speed knobs are easier to use. I think they look nicer too, especially gold ones. Two volumes and two tones is really versatile. I do not have coil taps at the moment, but I quite liked mixing a bridge humbucker with a split neck pup. it gives a slightly brighter sparkly middle position sound.

I'm pretty obsessive over fitting pointers. I know it's daft but as a knob twiddler, being able to glance down without wearing specs and get an approximation of what to expect sonically is quite reassuring. Agree with BG that speed knobs are much easier to use and I'd use them myself if they didn't clash with my vintage OCD.
Set of speed knobs on Bournes low friction pots, smooth as a very shaven thing.

Keef's L6-S is now in the Hard Rock Café, New York, fitted with Top Hats. They should be Speed Knobs. This would ruin my meal.
