Malmsteen

Post by werdna »

Malmsteen's playing with Alcatraz is astonishing. After they sacked Malmsteen, Vai was great too, but it is a revelation how much better was Malmsteen. Compare each of them on the track All Night Long.

One night in Japan, Malmsteen soloed over the top of Bonnet's vocal one time too many.
Bonnet walked out of the arena, and on the way 'accidentally' kicked out Malmsteen's amp lead, making his guitar dead mid solo..
Malmsteen chased Bonnet out into the truck and tried to strangle him.
After the roadies pulled Malmsteen away, he got sacked. Then they got Vai.
In life, don't sweat the petty stuff, and don't pet the sweaty stuff.

Don't particularly fancy listening to either of them, but on the evidence of these two videos I agree with you!

I still haven't forgiven him for his crimes against stratocasters.

I'd like to see him jam with Richard Thompson. I suspect they'd both have really puzzled looks on their faces.
