Really enjoying this at the moment. Just over a third of the way through it. 700 big pages. Sam Phillips, Sun Records, biography by Guralnick who knew him for decades and interviewed him many times.
He came from a radio background and the music history of the time, setting up his studio, recording, people, the industry etc make for interesting reading.
Highly recommended. Got it for $40 at the Relay shop at Welly airport.
