Re: Capo guitars

That's not a crazy price he's got on the esp but I suspect there's something he's not saying.

Re: NPD: Third Eye

Well done, it's a plunge I have always talked myself out of, looks great, I like the pcb additions, if i did it, id remove all of the parts overlay, and just leave random text and images on the silkscreen, after you have populated ten or more, you won't be needing the layout guide anyway. good luck...

NPD: Third Eye

Hey guys, during the last lockdown I made Monarch Pedals, a pedal making company. I've made many many clones over the years and wanted to do my own circuits/sounds under a company name since I've been designing schematics/circuits ever since I got involved with pedal making and repairing. My dayjob ...

Re: Best Effects Units For Valve Amps...Go

Forgive my noobness. There is only one input jack on my amp. Where the heck can I put in the effects loop to slot it between pre-amp and power-amp? That's where an effects loop generally is, would be weird to do it otherwise! Your amp doesn't have one then unfortunately. It's something you can defi...

Re: Best Effects Units For Valve Amps...Go

Valve amps are too loud, so you need an OD pedal, I also think an analog delay is a far better choice, add some texture, a digital delay is too pure for my tastes! Also some fuzz but only into a slightly dirty amp, otherwise they sound thin. You're not playing the right fuzzes then. The Fuzzboy we ...

Re: Best Effects Units For Valve Amps...Go

Depends on the amp. If you're happy with the drive then you're happy with the drive. I like mesa boogie drive sounds more than most others. Thing is every pedal gives you a different flavour of drive. They're not all the same, so if you're not huge on the amp sound you've got a whole universe to hel...

Re: NPD: Passive Volume Box/Attenuator

Nice! I laughed the other day at the JHS one on facebook where its just a volume pot and two jacks, bet it cost a fortune too! The guy bought it for $100. Used. I felt quite bad for him honestly, he wasn't to know. There's a lot of these sorta thing all over reverb and Etsy these days going for sil...

NPD: Passive Volume Box/Attenuator

It's what JHS calls a Little Black Amp Box, except better designed. I had an hour free with some leftover parts and had wondered about these pedals that seem to be making a splash. They sit in the FX loop and operate as a master volume, so where you'd have say delay -> reverb -> amp, you'd splice th...

Re: Camera advice...

But, the Nikon mount hasn't changed since the 40s so any lens you have now will work on a modern body (albeit manual only if it doesn't have AF etc) which is something to think about. The Nikon mount changed with the release of their mirrorless cameras. If I wasn't invested with Nikon gear I would ...

Re: Camera advice...

Sony A7II is the all-rounder, A7S Specialises in video and is more expensive, A7RII is massive mega-pixels and massive price. (don't get the older A7 or A7R) Sony A6000 or Fuji XT10 would be my recommendation and I'd probably take the Fuji if it was my money. Revisiting this thread... Five years la...

Re: Dumble ODS - Mod Discusson

If you install an fx loop, you've got the option of reverb right there. I think they're a must on any modern amp design.
