Most routers come with collets for either size Dave, most of my bits are 1/4" and like BG says it's a slower process but in some ways safer too as I'm dead scared of it ripping a chunk out on me, especially when I was routing the edges of the tele!!

Maybe an active pickup might work?

I've played an epiphone and a LP standard, the standard was sensational, the short Gibson scale felt weird at first but made playing rocky stuff really easy, the epiphone just felt cheap, hard to explain but it's just a different world.

I'm a huge HRD fan, but I'd pick the blackstar over it!!

HT-40 or HT-60 would be my pick of a versatile and affordable amp to do everything from light OD to high gain, responds well to boost pedals etc..

Is it fair to say that the HD500 is a good setup for doing metal and high gain kinda stuff? Can you get a sweet sounding clean/light crunch out of it as well? I'm sure the Captain will confirm it as well, it does metal REALLY well, its clean stuff is brilliant too, it responds really well too, like...
