Re: Brown Sound + Cot 50 boost
Hey all  Brown sound + cot50. Has diode and LED clipping. My next project is probably a 2 channel dumkudo switchable with one circuit with a boost knob. What do you guys use to label the pedals? https://i.imgur.com/tW462XF.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/XlAmvYB.jpeg That looks so nicely built. But ...

Re: Can a different cab affect the gain?
Tech alert... "gain" occurs with active components such as valves, transistors, FETs etc. Pickups don't have gain, speakers don't have gain. So assuming the same impedance speaker load (be it a 6", 8 ohm Sony speaker in a box or a 412 8-ohm Marshall cab), with the same guitar, then th...

Re: NAD - Jansen Bassman
In a 6L6 valve, pin 1 is spare. In a 7027A valve, pin 1 is internally connected to pin 4 (the screen grid). So if the amp in question has nothing soldered to pin 1 on the valve base then you should be OK (apart from checking bias). But if the amp in question has something soldered to pin 1 on the va...

Re: Whats on your amp workbench?
Measure the resistance across R21 in circuit (but NOT powered up). You should get a reading of 110 ohms or close.

Re: Adhesive for large electrolytic caps
Ta, I was reading that it contains substances that are corrosive (to copper tracks etc) - there is an "electrical" silicon but I can't find any! Cheers.sizzlingbadger wrote: ↑Mon Mar 28, 2022 8:11 am Ordinary silicone sealant is good, the clear stuff looks a bit tidier.

Adhesive for large electrolytic caps
Just wondering what product the amp techs are using to adhere large electrolytic capacitors together to damp vibration? It's usually white rubbery (silicone?) flexible stuff!
