Re: Anyone here play Chet Atkins?

Gah! My thumbpick is only good for downstrokes... is that normal? Watched a couple youtoobs... and I suspect they only downstroke the bass notes in Travis picking? The plectrum in me rebels against this. Is there a thumbpick designed for alterate directions? Or should I just man up? 😆 I have a few ...

Re: NOD

Mike my Squier Jazzmaster was much the same and both were made in Indonesia, their quality on the Classic Vibe and Vintage Modified range is top notch.

New offset day. The Squier Starcaster arrived this morning without incurring duty or tax, Customs must be snowed under  Have Squier ever got their shit together, the fit and finish on this is flawless, not a mark or finish/binding flaw anywhere. Beautiful burst too. The frets are really wel...

$608 including Cali sales tax to get to California. Probably another $100 shipping to here and GST on top if it gets caught.

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?

Ahh the wonders of Fender policies and attitudes. These are hard to get here, Music Works has the cheaper and non original Affinity. Rockshop has them listed but out of stock. Sweetwater emailed they couldn't ship here as they were not a Fender dealer here. So I emailed back asking if I could ship t...

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?

After missing out on the Harmony archtop I decided on plan 2 for the Christmas guitar, this will be winging it's way to me, has had good reviews and is a little outside the square, hoping for something a little different. Squier Starcaster. :P https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50640941146_57777e15...

Re: 1958 Harmony H-1203

I reckon you could drop the saddle height by that much. The neck is still tight to the body which is good, these usually have a gap at the bottom as they pull up over time. No that is a replacement saddle. I was going to say consider making a new one, that doesn't fit the slot tight and has been shi...

Re: 1958 Harmony H-1203

Can you take a measurement of the fret top to under the string at the 12th fret and a photo of the neck heel side on and one with a ruler beside the side of the saddle to get a height. Most of these old girls of any brand need a reset but it looks like you could shave 1mm off the saddle and still ha...
