The term Tweed means the tweed covered (suitcase tweed) Fender amps mainly from the 50's (although the Champ was '48) - and mainly feres to the Fender Deluxe, a simple 2x6V6 circuit. Personally not 100% sure that all were 6V6 in the '50's but it wouldn't surprise me. As far as a Peavey Tweed...mmm.....

So, I'm at a wedding, look at the Strat being played, write down the serial and go to the cops...or walk into the Rock Shop....or whatever, I reckon it's a little pointless. I'm also not trying to be rude...just practicle. Especially as a buyer...it's critical to know.

I always think this is a bit wierd...wouldn't a thief just use the same photo's with the serial number XXX'd out? Then he could say, like many do, serial number will be provided to the buyer....yeah right. Also, one could XXX out a serial on a stolen photo, say that it will be given, and then do som...

Bozie, using single coils with these amps is probably a way to get a "cleaner" tone...especially older lower output pickups. Using humbuckers with these amps and clean is virtually impossible past 2 on the volume. But the driven tone is awesome. Tweeds are great amps if you have the luxury...

The diagram used to be available - not sure if still...I have it if you'd like it. This is a Weber 5E3x2, with my own mods and replacement parts. The cabinet is averge quality. There is better out there. Chassis is very good quality. Other components about average - some good, some not so good. Chea...

You're thinking of the other guy, and I'm fairly sure he has made up a kit of some sort? But it's interesting that yours is a 212, in a box the same size as a regular 112 deluxe. That's really cool. The other guy here...the cab is actually bigger than a 1x12...look at this link, picture is 1.3meg s...

I have two Tweed amps - both made by me and reasonably true to Tweed specs. The first is a single 12" 2 x 6V6 and a 5y3 rectifier. SOunds good. Breaks up WAY early...like on 3 or 4. Have made some mods to make that a little better, and use a 5751 in V1, or sometimes a 12AY7. Buit what you want ...

Vintage Gretsch Guitar Porn

Here it is - my 1967 6120 Nashville. Original in every way including case - one owner. Was covered in smokers gunk and needed a good going over. Fret clean up last night (these older Gretsches sometimes left with very rough frets), polish today, set of strings, adjust the Fltertrons and all systems ...

Re: NZ dollars caused GAS

With the NZ dollar stronger than ever against the US..never has there been a urge like this to get something from the "US and A". Been sitting on ebay for a while lately and holy crap that gas is getting outa hand.... Anyone else feeling this? Or do you "aged ones" just have it ...
