I am talking Henriksen and Polytone
Did these ever make their way to NZ? Anyone see any for sale back in the day?

Re: Jazz, semis, flat vs round?
Depending on the sound you're after, it's generally roundwound monel for prewar jazz, swing and the start of bebop, then flatwounds from the mid 50s on. Chromes are a relatively cheap way to start out with flats, but they are duller than other brands. Best I've found are GHS precision flats, but the...

I really wanted a Chet Atkins solid body nylon. Rockshop has this strange reissue. https://www.rockshop.co.nz/epiphone-cec-coupe-natural-thinline-acoustic-electric-nylon-string-classical-guitar An Epiphone CEC. But it's super small, like a Les Paul. The cool feature is that the preamp can send the ...

I got this for thumbing - Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, Buster B Jones, etc. It's a Cordoba Fusion 14 with a 48mm nut and 16" radius fretboard. All thumbs up for Rockshop. The first one I picked up was a lemon with a faulty mic, but they let me exchange it the next day. Overall, I don't think it's w...

Is it stuffed? - It's not stuffed
I picked up a new Cordoba today. It's a great guitar and I'm liking it so far, but the low E was buzzing around the 7th fret so I thought I'd adjust the truss rod to give it some relief. The neck is dead straight. I figured it could be a high fret but I've always fiddled with truss rods to some succ...

some of the cleanest and most fluid playing ever starts @1:18 Dude...seriously...out-fuxking-standing! Thanks so much for that! Big Tchavolo Schmitt fan here. Ever since Latcho Drom. He's been 'the man', for me, to inherit Django's throne. The look, the swagger, the chops, the taste and sensitivity...
