Re: The 3 pillars of boganism?

Maybe there are different pillars depending on the bogan locality. I think the pillars in my area were: - Black Levi's + Metal tshirt - Cheap beer and whiskey - Constantly fixing your POS Ford/Holden with parts you got from a dodgy guy in Glen Eden who lived in a little fibrolite house but had a ma...

Re: The 3 pillars of boganism?

You guys know some rich bogans. The bogan guitar players I know are using shit from cash converters. As an aside I have a Mesa Tremoverb from the same year as yours. If it's a custom face plate tremoverb I believe it's been through a few hands on this forum. I once did a gig at Kings Arms (R.I.P.) ...

As long as your plugging into it with an LTD M10 with $600 worth of Fishman Fluence pickups

Re: The 3 pillars of boganism?

My wife’s always accusing me of being a closet bogan due to being from a small town and knowing more than I should About rotary’s and turbo’s, which I’ve given some push back on. But now I look at these 3 amps realising they might be 3 of my favourites also (give it take an AC/DC era plexi) which m...

The 3 pillars of boganism?

While it would be easy for one to assume it's Cody's/Woodstock's, denim jackets cut down to vests covered in patches with undecipherable band names & prolific tattooing, I in fact believe it looks like this: IMG20220719174710.jpg '92 Peavey 5150 '97 Mesa RevG Triple Rectifier '84 Marshall JCM800...

Re: Marshall Amplification - their greatest year

If volume is tone, I think you'll be proved right. 😃 IMG20220712134206.jpg Trouser-flaping-tastic. Great when you get the volume up so high you can feel it. It gives a percussive thump you can feel in your chest. It's a rare thing to enjoy. Changes the interaction between guitar and amp. Can't imag...

Re: Marshall Amplification - their greatest year

IME there's no such thing as Marshall's greatest year. You can find a spectacular sounding beast of an amp from pretty much any year but it will require endless patience wading through a skip load of mediocre ones until you find it. This is the absolute undeniable truth. However, due to my complete...

Sounds like a post from someone who hasn't played an '84!!
Great call on the speakers admittedly

Re: Marshall Amplification - their greatest year

Nice! However how's the hearing? No issues, I believe I have very robust ears! I've always worked in a noisy trade & environment. As such my workplaces have been required by law to have my hearing & lung function checked twice a year which I certainly appreciate. I am extremely fastidious w...

Re: Marshall Amplification - their greatest year

err yes... my JMP is non MV, so got a PPIMV installed as it was insane otherwise and only really useful as a clean platform. Even the JCM800 really needed an attenuator at band practice or everyone whined.. I solved the volume issue by buying a house in the middle of an olive grove in an isolated c...

Re: Marshall Amplification - their greatest year

I noticed after having a couple of 800s and a late jmp ( 87 I think which was an early 800) they all sounded a little different to each other but all hard to get over 1 in volume. err yes... my JMP is non MV, so got a PPIMV installed as it was insane otherwise and only really useful as a clean plat...

May I ask why you haven't played one? Even if the high input is not your thing, my personal opinion is that the low input on them is criminally underated. If you get the chance, please don't be shy!

If you liked that, you should check out a brand called Splawn. Their Competition model is absolutely stunning....😜
