Re: HN335D

I've just studied that photo closely enough to see the screws and work out what happened. That's ugly all right. But I have to say the guitar itself is so pretty one would almost think it was an Eastman. Yeah, yeah; getting my coat. If it ultimately transpires they're necessary I'll countersink and...

Re: HN335D

Nice one Brian! 335 neck removals can be a real biatch. Looks like there's binding botches also? All doable of course...but all time and money too. How do the Wizz sound in there? I couldn't quite get them to work for me. It sounds very full. A/B with the SG it's a much bigger sounding guitar. Nice...

Re: HN335D

Congrats Brian. That heel repair doesn't look too bad in the photos. Naaa. It's shite and the neck angle is wrong. I'll investigate it when I've time to do something about it. Congrats, that’s a pretty guitar Yikes so you’re up for a whole take the neck off job then ?? Maybe. It'd be OK to leave it...

HN335D

Last year this 335 went through a deceased estate auction. I didn't bid because I had a similar one at the time, and because of the god-awful heel repair. It went to a nice local chap who fitted the ex-GrantB Wizz pickups I'd sold him. A year later and another chap has it. The ugly heel is stable an...

Re: The Gibson Les Paul Model thread

Watching the Foo Fighters tonight there were a few nice LPs being swapped in for both Pat Smear and Chris Shiflet at times, gave me hope rock isn’t on the way out and the classic LP into a stack is still as stronger statement as ever. Coffee with my daughter in a cafe this morning. She started show...

I wouldn't have a clue what to do with that guitar but it's bloody cool.

Re: VHNGD - '72 Strat

Spent the afternoon wiring-up another drop-in. When I came to remove the old one I discovered the output from the volume pot was hanging by a thread. Maybe that explains why I wasn't too happy with the sound. Anyway, new pickups going in tomorrow.

Have not been in the gibson fanboi camp long butmy leanings in terms of les pauls fall squarely on gold tops and TV yellow specials/juniors both of which benefit from ] beat to he...
