Re: Guitar valuations from an out of touch player

Welcome! That's an interesting bridge on the Strat, what is it? Great opportunity go get your Bonnie Raitt on. As for prices, check Trademe and Reverb for a general indication but remember they're asking, not selling prices. To be honest, replies from us might be opportunistic (though not all). But ...

Re: Late 70s Strats - thoughs?

They sound good so far, but in typical fashion O had it all in peices before I could play with them too much. Something that has me stumped is the cavity. It seems to have a green shielding paint under the finish. I say shielding because it the ground wire screws into it, which has also been finish...

Re: recommend me a drill press

I’m really happy with my Bosch, electronic speed control, laser sights, great depth gauge, built in clamp. What’s not to like? Kept my old Ryobi but will use for fret pressing ;) seriously https://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/bosch-electric-bench-drill-press/p/269303?store=43&gad_source=1&gclid=C...

Re: What's on your work bench?

Pretty much done. Learned from so many mistakes with this. It looks pretty nice and clean over all but I know every little mess up that I made and it annoys me. Will finish the wire up and crank it. This is the first cab I've ever made. Cool experience. 20240320_222143.jpg Well done! The trick is t...

Re: Do you remove the trem cover on your Strat?

Ummm.... I take them off and lose them but I just noticed the G&L still has one. Probably because with typical G&L common sense design, there's a handy lack of plastic over the trem block. I also noticed it's black while the pickguard is white. So this tells me two things: I have a worrying ...

Lol, OK, it will actually be quite interesting, never seen something off a 3d printer that was actually useful! No rush, not picking it up for a couple weeks… Tony, have you been unfaithful to Bill again? You know how he reacts to that. Lol, he’s going to whip it into shape for me, get the trem wor...

Re: My very own gibson shocker

That really is a weak point - stand on a lead while plugged in and bang I have a hairline crack that makes me want to take extra care. Wireless from now on for this one may be prudent. IMG_20240319_084400_HDR.jpg That’s exactly how it unfolded. One of the reasons I always wrap my lead through my st...

Re: My very own gibson shocker

Nope. Not yet but you're on the right track. Do it again in white or whatever is there already and cut the neckward side to match the curve of the pickguard. Funny you should say that, because that’s exactly what I threw half a dozen test iterations at and they alllllll looked poos Then I bow to yo...

It's not maturity, he's just unapolojetic.
