Re: Has anyone tried graphtech ratio tuners?

Have you heard Adrian Legg play? He has tuners that let him move between tunings at the flick of a wrist...which he does mid-song across multiple strings. I thought he used something like a D-tuna, but then I saw him live. He just turns his insanely high ratio tuners very quickly and very accuratel...

Re: Philip Sayce joined PRS!

By my calculations, approximately 98.6% of guitar solos are fucking boring. I've heard Steven Wilson describe a solo as a conversation with the listener and this is why he doesn't get shred guitar: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/steven_wilson_explains_why_he_doesnt_get_shre...

Re: Anyone Rocking Vintage Blackface?

Grant B, Conway - you boys wind them up, or keep them clean? Robbie - Bandmaster would stay pretty clean right? Maybe a little grit at the top of the dial? Twins scare me. I was dating some twins when I was university, everyone would always ask me how I tell them apart, I said it was easy, Rebecca ...

Re: Bass effects!

As an alternative layout: tuner -> cali76 -> QTron -> factotum -> bass fuzz -> BF-2B -> Alpha Omega I like to compress at the start to give the whole chain a consistent tone, drive into fuzz to give a “MOAR” stack -> modulation, then use Alpha Omega as an Amp Emulator. Another, probably better, cha...

Re: Bass effects!

Me, I would go tuner -> QTron -> bass fuzz -> factotum -> cali76 -> BF-2B -> Alpha Omega Effects like the QTron like a clean signal to work best, putting the compressor after dirt means you can crank them but keep your volume level steady when you go from clean to dirty... preamp at the end to shape...

Re: Is there a power supply with 16v AC outputs?

In the past I've used the AC out on my power supplies to run a double adapter with two wall warts on it, fits nicely under the board with appropriate use of zip ties etc... I used one of these: https://www.jaycar.co.nz/iec-c14-male-t ... m/p/PS4100

Re: Tube amp techs in Auckland?

Reviving an old thread with a new question. I gave my Gallien Kruger bass amp to my son in Auckland, and it’s developed a fault. Who would you guys recommend for taking something like that to? He’s in Three Kings/Mt Roskill. Thanks Maybe email these guys as they're the importer in NZ: https://music...
